The club gives the children attending Highfield School the opportunity to join in many fun activities with their friends in a safe, familiar and supportive environment with staff they know and trust.
The club started in 2008 as a pilot for all Cambridgeshire Special Schools. The club has continued to grow and develop thanks to the success and popularity amongst the children, parents and everyone’s support.
The clubs ethos of being child led and giving the children the main role in planning and choosing what they want to at the club means it is very popular. As the school is an area special school children can come from a wide geographical area and it can mean the only chance to see friends is at school, the club aims to provide the opportunity for the children to enjoy a home from home where they can play and spend time with their friends.
